She is the elder child of a non-consanguinous marriage. Her mother
had two spontaneous abortion. Younger brother is 7 years and normal.
Her antenatal and birth history is normal. She had history of fever
for a week at 5 month of age-not hospitalized. She was diagnosed
as CP-spastic triplegia at 8 months of age. She started getting
convulsions from 1991- generalized tonic clonic lasting for 3 minutes.
There have been no further convulsion after 1994. CT scan shows
multiple calcified granulomas in both parietal lobes. For the past
4 years she is not undergoing any specific PT/OT or taking any kind
of medication.
Her milestones were as follows: Social smile-5 months, Neck holding-9
months, Bunny hopping-2 years, Cruising-4 years, speech-2 years,
Toilet needs-4 years
Head Circumference. is 48.5cm. She is alert, co-operative, responds
relevantly to all commands. Vision and hearing is good. No squint
or facial palsy. Drooling is present Dysarthria ++. There is marked
spasticity in lower limbs and hypertonia in Right. UL. Plantar flexion
of both legs not possible. UL-mature grasp both hands, though left
UL is better than right DJ-exaggerated and Babinski’s sign is positive.
Fixed knee contractures bilaterally present.
She is able to walk with support only. Cannot come to stand on
own from the sitting position. Sits unsupported for long with mild
kyphosis. Climbs steps with hands forward on the step. Cannot balance
herself while wearing clothes. She is able to feed herself- and
do other coordinated activities like cleaning vegetables.
Six months after G-Therapy: She was assessed again on 29 January
99. Now she is able to walk unsupported for 5 minutes, she is able
to rise to standing from sitting position on her own.
She has achieved the above improvements despite of not taking
any occupational or physiotherapy and hence the above improvement
could be attributed to G-Therapy.
