History and condition before starting G-Therapy:

She is the youngest child of a non consanguinous marriage. Her mother has had two spontaneous abortions, two early neonatal deaths and four living children. The eldest of whom is a 20 years old boy who is normal. Rest of three daughters have mental retardation with features of Down's syndrome. She appears to be a typical Down with short stature, mongolian facies, short-stubby fingers, simian crease, general hypotonia. H/o delayed mental and motor milestones and increased distance between 1st and 2nd toe. She was brought by her father to our centre for the following complaints :

• Unclear speech, poor vocabulary, unable to construct full sentences.
• Lethargic- Very slow in all her physical activities like walking, eating, talking etc.
• Very poor scholastic performance-despite of going to school since 5 years of age and being tutored at home by her father. She is unable to recite all the alphabets or numbers. Writing skills none.
• Poor attention-span-very much distracted while being taught.
• Unable to dress herself completely.

Within two months of G-Therapy, the father was very pleased to inform us about her dramatic response in speech and learning process. Initially all his three daughters seemed equally retarded- now he is sure that she is the smartest of them all.

Re - assessment after 3 months of G-Therapy on 5th February 99:

I have noted the following improvements in her:

• She has become very alert and quick in her responses.
• There is no shyness or dullness and she is speaking spontaneously and relevantly.
• She seems to be very enthusiastic and is very eager to demonstrate her learning skills to me. She is able to recite all the alphabets and number 1-10 without a mistake. Can write a few alphabets (imitate). Can imitate a drawing of square and triangle.
• Her speech is distinctly clearer, louder and confident.
• Is able to dress herself completely.
• Has become fast in all her physical activities.

In a nutshell, I have seen a distinct global improvement in this case of Down's syndrome. The other two elder sisters were also put on G-Therapy successively and they too have been showing improved concentration and learning ability.

Last assessment done in 2002:

This shows that all the three sisters have improved remarkably, in metal and motor activities. Their family comes from a small village and their father has commented that all the people who know these children seem very happy with the progress that they have made.
