Case No 2: Anterior Horn Cell Lesion or severe U.M.N. Lesion of six years duration.

Mr. A. Zafir age 29 years who came for treatment 7 years after spinal cord injury. He suffered from tetraplegia with C4-C5 spinal level and was confined to the wheelchair. His E.M.G. study before Neuro G–Therapy showed total absence of motor units from the muscles sampled, indicating an anterior horn cell lesion or a severe UMN lesion. His MRI of cervical spine at this stage showed thinning and atrophy of the cervical cord at C4-5-6 levels, with gliotic changes within the cord at C 5 level.

Four months after Neuro G-Therapy he started showing improvements in evacuation of bladder and bowel, voluntary locking of knees. He could do sit ups with support and there was reduction in the spasticity. E.M.G. study showed reappearance of motor units in the muscles, indicating some recovery in the muscles of upper limbs especially the Triceps.
